Dublin May 6 This Day at His Majestys Court of King s Bench relates the trial of James Monaghan alias Poor Calf for the murder of his wife Elner Monaghan by a mortal wound with a fleeing knife on July 8 1720. He languished till the following Tuesday and died. The jury remanded him to Newgate for death by hanging and quartering.
