Pittsburgh Sept 17 The national committee of the American Federation of Labor issued a nationwide walkout call. All organized men at mills were asked to join the strike. About 400 people await further instructions as workers prepare to walk out.
Paris dispatch reports Marshal Foch postponing his planned visit to the United States until the peace treaty is ratified. Officials say the arrangement is necessary to ensure orderly transition and full cooperation once terms are finalized.
DAN Francingy reports 200000 shipyard workers threaten a general strike on October 1 over wage increases. Delegates from Pacific coast points meet in Tacoma to decide action while the United States Shipping Board resists broader wage raises beyond the current contracts.
