Bandits Raid Snares Oregon Man in Checotah Shooting
An Oregon man, identified as S. Johnson, 22, was shot in Checotah after night officer Arthur Musgrave broke up a cafe burglary at Nichols cafe around 1:30 a.m. Johnson, shot in the back, was taken to Muskogee General Hospital. Search Continues For Sooner Pilot Missing in Texas
Army airforce and civil air patrol planes joined the hunt for a single-engine Cessna carrying L. W. Ritter of Ardmore and James Reece of Gainesville lost between Waco and Gainesville since early Sunday. The craft, which left Waco at 11:45 p.m. Saturday, was last heard over Fort Worth at 12:33 a.m. Sunday. Reece is a former Army Air Force pilot. Ritter is his Ardmore relative. Thunderstorms lashed Gainesville area Saturday night.
