A Tuesday storm with high winds and lightning cut electricity to Midwest City’s 12,000 residents from midnight Monday, with outages spreading to nearby areas through the night. A substation fire on Ash Street burned a transformer and delayed restore times. OG&E reported lines from Waukomis to Enid rattled by wind. Power later resumed citywide.
