Doctors urge OU medical expansion to train 100 yearly
Oklahoma Medical association members urged the legislature to expand the University of Oklahoma medical school to enable a yearly output of 100 physicians. They noted current facilities admit only 64 annually and warned increases require new facilities for the medical school and university hospitals. A proposed expansion would cost over 1 million dollars for a class of 80. They also discussed draft curbs and bone banks as medical advances. Dr. John Albert Key of Washington University spoke on bone banks aiding fewer operations for bone defects.

Teens Confess to Stealing Twelve Cars Here
Police say two teen-agers admitted taking 12 new cars in three weeks, mostly Fords. A 16 year old is held in the city jail for other thefts, the other youth a year younger in county juvenile ward. Detectives Hawks and Cravatt stopped them in the 800 block NW 24, finding a stolen 1949 Ford nearby. They said the pair led to other thefts and named several accomplices in what investigators call an amateur ring. Cars were usually without keys and often locked.

J H Turney indicted on 11 federal liquor charges pleaded mental incompetence to enter pleas in federal court. He had earlier pleaded guilty to all but one count and then innocent on the conspiracy charge. Judge Broaddus ordered a mental capacity examination by two physicians. Turney’s wife Verna, also indicted, reasserted innocence. Co-defendants I A Thompson and Paul Baker pleaded guilty to one count each. Probers Promise Surprise in Fox Quiz Wednesday

Tornado devastates Amarillo. $1 million damage and 83 injured
Amber sun broke through after a drenching morning as rescue crews pressed through ruins in Amarillo. The Sunday night twister killed four and injured eighty three, ripping through 30 blocks of homes and businesses in South Amarillo. Debris filled streets while Red Cross and Salvation Army set up HQ.
