Washington May 11 A dissension split house veterans committee approved a modified pension bill adding about 10 billion dollars to veterans benefits over 50 years. The bill liberalizes regulations of the Veterans Administration for disabled and needy veterans and totals about a billion dollars yearly through 2000. An amendment barring pensions for those working more than half time drew fire from Rankin who warned the measure would cut pensions for many World War I veterans aged 65 or over. The bill, led by Rankin, sets 72 dollars a month for needy World War II and World War I veterans at age 65 and outlines further benefits.

She described how the pair used benzedrine tablets to nerve themselves and noted the partner later faced armed robbery charges in 1945 and had a police record. Police arranged arrest after learning she was released from Hot Springs as a material witness.

Navy Exhibits A Real Flying Skyscraper
