A tornado struck three farms about 20 miles southeast of Winfield Kansas early Wednesday injuring two people and wiping out the Albert Hessron farm. Livestock reportedly killed. Cyclist Injured as Drunken Driver Is Held
A 21 year old cyclist was critically injured when his motorcycle struck a car driven by 28 year old Ernest Walter Owens who is jailed on charges of drunkenness drunken driving and lack of a state license. The crash in the 1100 block SE 29 left the cyclist William Arthur Russell with a skull fracture and brain lesions. Officers W B Cates and L A Ringwald said the motorcycle hit the car as it turned left into a driveway and the car then struck a parked truck.
