Seven white men and four juveniles were charged with disorderly conduct after a disturbance near Roscoe G Johnson's home at 7153 St Lawrence Avenue in Chicago. Police said they stopped cars and carried anti Negro signs as about 1,000 bystanders gathered and rocks and road flares were thrown at the house. Johnson, 52, a part time post office employee and Northwestern graduate, had just moved into the south side residence with his wife and a roomer.
