At Vance airforce base Enid two cadets and a master sergeant executed a dramatic forced landing of a B-25. The aircraft bounced touched down then rolled across two ditches and a plowed field before returning to the runway. No one was hurt. In Chicago on July 23 two elderly survivors of Brigham Young visited the railroad fair as guests of the Denver and Rio Grande. Mrs Fannie Clayton, 79, and Mrs Mabel Sanborn, 86, are the 56th and 54th children of the Mormon leader. They recalled life at the Lion House and the vast family. Sanborn estimated Young has over 1,000 descendants and spoke of nieces and nephews by name.

Ann Doser Found Innocent After Third Trial
Ann Doser, 21, was declared innocent by a district court jury after seven hours of deliberation in Atoka. The Oklahoma City woman faced the hitchhike murder charge in the 4 year old case of McGraw Streckenginger, 20, of Pittsburg Kansas. Previous trials included a hung jury and a life sentence later overturned on appeal. Doser testified she was asleep in the car when the shooting occurred.
