SAN ANGELO Texas Jan 2 Delay arose today in the case of Harry Spawell charged with killing his wife and Lieutenant Butter Alpine last July when the state subpoenaed another witness who could not reach here until this evening The defense did not want to pace util hearing the testimony of Mrs BF Jenkins of El Paso at the court ordered an adjournment until 740 tonight Mrs Jenkins was said to have been eisrting Two witnesses had been examiners this morning when the state gave notice that it expected another withers We also announced that Mrs J W Dowaim of Alpine with her husband operating the hotel at Alpine formerly run by Spanell would be recalled She was ill today but expected to testify tomorrow Counsel on both sides expressed belief that all testimony will be completed tomorrow
