Robert Cox a 14 year old messenger for Mackey Telegraph died from injuries after being struck by an automobile driven by Harris a Jame for Confederate Veterans official. He was riding a bicycle when struck and his skull was crushed. No blame attached to the driver. Cox’s father died in the 1918 Santa Fe freight depot explosion.
