Arthur J. Colligan, sought in the four year old killing of Belle Hopkins, proprietor of a Tulsa resort, surrendered in Buffalo New York. Tulsa police will send an officer to pick him up if he proves the wanted man. Colligan, once an official of a large corporation and reputed wealthy, was found near death with a throat wound. he recovered and later disappeared until today.
CHICAGO August 25 An inmate named Fleming 55 years old a Black man was arrested for wife abandonment. An hour after confinement he tore up boards in his cell and dug toward liberty. He said he wanted to go back home to make up with his wife.
Washington August 25 Senator Gallinger republican leader told the senate during the revenue bill debate that former Speaker Cannon was the tonal anon blamed by insurgent republicans for complaints against the Dingley tariff. He defended both Mien and Aldrich and said politicians spread false theories that rising living costs were caused by tariff rates.
