Three fail to claim exemption before the board today. Thirty six yet to be examined. Additional notices will not be sent until next week. District No 1 officials urge accuracy and patience as processes continue.
Nine men have now been accepted in district No 1 after today’s examinations bringing the day’s rate to one in four. Harry Lang from West Second Street Jidin Sutton Acree from North Broadway and Roy Lee May of North Robinson passed and will serve without claiming exemptions. May traveled from Wichita to take the test to avoid being seen as a slacker. Further testing will occur this afternoon and tonight with Dr W J Jolly available at the courthouse to reexamine those disqualified.
A large steamship ran ashore in fog off Halifax, Nova Scotia this morning. It is the second large steamer to ground on the rocks near the port within a week. the ship's name has not been released by the censor.
