Youngsters Get Park At Duncan
Duncan dedicates the McCasland Rotary playground park with city police and Rotary volunteers providing equipment and labor. Mayor Frye accepted the gift from Jim Jackson as the Junior Police and Girls Safety Patrol prepare to operate the park. The project, costing over 8000 dollars, includes a baseball diamond, swings, basketball courts, and playgrounds for children. Additional park sites are planned around Duncan with land donated by LLEN SPEEGLE and Emmet Hall, C. M. Browder, and an old CCC camp site repurposed for parks. Chief Ingram leads a 700 member Junior Police and Safety Patrol to supervise the parks.

Car Hits Tree. Vinita Driver Dies in Tulsa Hospital
Harold D. Cotton, 21, of Vinita, died in a Tulsa hospital early Thursday after his car ran off a Vinita street, vaulted a curb into the high school yard and struck a tree. Cushing April 7 Special A thief entered during the day while a bookkeeper was away at Payne County Masonic hospital and took $40 from a safe drawer. State Legion Convention Plans Tulsa Return in August
