New Indian bill prompts debate over Oklahoma native lands

Notice to holders of Chickasaw Nation school debt certificates

All parties holding certificates or orders of indebtedness against the Chickasaw Nation for boarding pupils or furnishing fuel must appear in person or by mail by March 3, 1902 at the office in Tishomingo to have them canceled and for warrants to be issued in their place. They may also place their script with the Bank of the Chickasaw Nation for collection.

Guthrie Oklahoma Feb 22 A fight with outlaws who killed Sheriffs Smith and Beck at Anadarko a month ago left Walter Swofford dead and Deputy W A Jones of Asher seriously wounded. Three outlaws fired on a posse led by Sheriff Milner of Shawnee as they approached a house near Wewoka. Jones was shot. Swofford was killed. The remaining two outlaws Sam Casey and Bill Watson surrendered. Rewards of 9000 dollars were offered for the three.
