Yesterday at 2 o clock the first match for the new gold medal began. This morning a collision occurred when the Utah Central accommodation train arriving at 11 40 crossed paths with a CP engine. The CP engine attempted to cross a second time and as it backed away the coupler struck the Utah Central tender tearing the rear truck and slightly damaging the front of the Utah Central engine. No lives were lost or injured.
