Born Aug 7, 1853 in Knox County Ohio, he moved to Clayton County as a child with Charles and Katharine Yearous. He married Rebecca May Dots in 187? They lived on the family homestead between West Union and Elkader. Surviving are ten children: Mrs Arthur Bailes, Jake Yearous of Fayette. Mrs Bianche McCullough of Brawley California. Clifton Yearous of Rock Island. Mrs Rebecca Bisting of Cedar Falls. Jerome Yearous on the original homestead. Mrs Cornelia Gage. Is Susie Kiple of West Union. Jim Yearous on the Elkader farm. Three other children died. He had 38 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Funeral services planned Thursday at the Yearous home and Wivria church with Rev. Mr. Wharton.
