Mosher Aurora Receives Army Air Corps Honorable Discharge
Cpl Howard E Mosher received his honorable discharge from the Army Air Corps on Oct 24. He entered service Nov 20, 1944, at Fort Snelling Minnesota, trained as an air plane mechanic in Biloxi Mississippi then B 29 specialist school in Seattle. He served as an aircraft inspector at Harmon Field Guam and Saipan before returning to the United States arriving Sept 10 1946. He spent nine days in Tokyo during his service. His brother Donald is stationed at Fort Meade Maryland. He plans to operate his father's farm next March 1 and currently lives with Mrs Lottie Rowse. his wife is the former Iola Rowse.

Two Boys Admit Setting $300,000 Waterloo Fires
Waterloo youths Richard Hall and Eugene Fike, both teens, confessed to starting four fires in Waterloo and one in Cedar Falls totaling about $300,000 in damage. Judge Dan G. Hourey sent them to Eldora’s boys training school. Fike was paroled to a Black Hawk County officer. The fires included Herrick Refrigerator Co. warehouse and Town Warehouse Co. at $100,000 each, plus $10,000 damages to B. K. Sprow Furniture, Feldman building, and a Cedar Falls city storage building. Des Moines fire marshal John Strohm called it the worst arson case yet.
