Des Moines AP reports that more than 600 of 4500 western Iowa shotgun deer licenses were unissued and remain available. Zone 1 covers western Iowa west of U.S. 71 and 75 and south of Iowa 3. Licenses issued first come, first served with a Dec 2 to 3 season from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Bow season already in progress prohibits deer take during shotgun season.

East Buchanan to Host Fifth Annual Girls Clinic on Nov 11

East Buchanan High School in Winthrop will host the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union Basketball Clinic for Northeast Town on Saturday November 11 1972. Afternoon drills begin at 2 15 p m featuring teams from West Central Center Point and Independence. Evening games include East Buchanan Stormont and MFL Andrew in a double header with doors opening at 5 45 p m and admission 1 25 for adults 75 cents for students.
