The Northeast Conference track and field meet will be held at Oelwein on Friday May 14 with preliminaries at 3 30 p m in high hurdles 100 yard and 220 yard dashes. Finals in shot put discus and broad jump occur in the afternoon followed by a band concert at 7 15 p m.

Oil Gusher Floods 40 Acres in Canada
A gusher in the Leduc field near Edmonton flooded about 40 acres with crude oil and forced the shutdown of nearly 100 wells.
