Fatal crash near Monticello claims two lives
Newman Meyer of Anamosa and his wife Vera died Friday when their car was broadside at an unmarked gravel road intersection four miles east of Monticello Iowa. A telephone company truck driven by Robert D Henning of Dubuque struck the Meyer vehicle. Henning was not hospitalized.

Police estimate 3700 dollars in damage after a camper truck blocking West Charles Street caused a chain collision.
