Democrats label reapportionment plan disgraceful
The House Constitutional Amendments and Reapportionment Committee split along party lines 12-7 to report a reapportionment plan Democrats call disgraceful and unconstitutional. The Senate tried a similar bill but failed by one vote. Committee chair Marvin Smith said a session will reconvene today as reapportionment is a must before adjournment. Democrats claim the plan benefits incumbents and would cost several representatives their seats.
