Legislation notes and local obliquities in June session
Americans in Iran face ongoing anti government violence with 118 executed and an equal number killed in clashes since 1970. In 1971 a failed kidnapping attempt targeted U S Ambassador Douglas MacArthur II and his wife, and a bomb wounded an American colonel. Local customs note Sun City Arizona visitors, and a political update mentions legislative leaders expect two weeks left in the session to finish work. James Aversa is named commander of Blaisdell Barnes VFW Post 1725 with new officers joining June 19.
