Des Moines Iowa February 18 Up M L Hutton Ames director of the state conservation commission for 12 years died today from injuries in a car accident two weeks earlier. His car hit a machine driven by R C Norman 3 small salesman Jan 30 on highway 65 north of Des Moines. Hutton was en route home when the crash occurred. He had suffered pneumonia and had little hope of recovery for days. Born in Washington county in 183d he attended Iowa State College. He was county engineer of Louisa from 1912 to 19d and later worked as an engineer before joining the board of conservation and its successor the conservation commission.
