Herman Peters a 21 year old farm youth was sentenced to life imprisonment at the Anamosa reformatory for the 240 dollar holdup of the Aetna Savings Bank at McIntire Ta. The judge Tom Boynton handed down the ruling after Peters pleaded guilty. The holdup occurred at 2 15 am Monday the money taken from a cash drawer after two bank employees convinced the bandit the safe would not open due to a time lock Peters was traced through a car he stole before the robbery and captured a few hours later. Peters described as large spectacled and awkward displayed emotion at the pronouncement then was taken to Anamosa to begin its service. The job was found no suicide risk under Peters bed or the home of someone else near the Minnesota line.
