Stewart Dies at 71 Ex-State Senator and Cattle Breeder
Paul Stewart 71 died suddenly at 19 15 of a heart attack at his home near Oelwein He was born January 1 1877 son of William and Stella Stewart on a Hawkeye area farm He served as a Iowa state senator beginning in 1937 for two terms He led in Holstein cattle circles as a director of the National Holstein Association for 12 years and as president of the state Holstein association He also led Fayette County Farm Bureau and was a Master Farmer and director of the State Farm Service He judged Holstein cattle in Ecuador last summer and helped re classifying Holstein cattle across the United States He married Lena Stuthhoff December 25 1901 in Maynard The couple lived on a Maynard area farm for 46 years before moving to 140 North Frederick Ave Oelwein He was a Mason with Maynard lodge leader for years and a member of the Elks and Presbyterian church Surviving are his wife four children Gladys Paschal of Lamont John of Waterloo Irving of Maynard RD Petersborough NH ten grandchildren four brothers Ed Maynard Wes Des Moines Sam Oelwein Dale South St Paul MN one sister Mabel Knight Maynard One daughter and one brother preceded him in death He funeral arrangements are by Delsing Funeral Home Maynard with service at Oelwein Presbyterian Church on Monday Feb 3 at 2 PM conducted by Rev L W Hayter.

A two year diet study from Chicago shows margarine fortified with vitamin A is as healthful as butter. Conducted by University of Illinois College of Medicine, researchers Carl son Leichenger and Eisenberg studied 267 children in two groups, one eating margarine and the other butter, finding no appreciable differences in health growth or weight.
