At Ankeneytown ten miles north a Chicago express train on the Lake Erie Division of the B&O railroad derailed after a misplaced switch. A genuine case of Asiatic cholera is reported in HiltysBoro. Fritz Theen, a German farmer near here, died yesterday after less than two days of illness. Physicians declare his death a cholera case in this county.
Snow and sleet accumulated two inches in Moonst Wasuixotox New Hampshire with the grass at twenty eight degrees above zero. It marked the third snow storm and the sixth below freezing since July 1.
In Tuscola Illinois a farmer near Arcola identified as M. O. Easton attacked his wife with a corn knife, inflicting fatal injuries. Local reports say she will die before morning. The incident occurred this evening at Easton’s farm.
Walter Grantham a Chicago salesman and two sisters drowned when a boat capsized while they were fishing in the Fox river at Carr Illinois. The incident occurred today with local authorities reporting the loss.

A wreck on the New York, Chicago and St. Louis line occurs three miles south of Axton on a sharp curve. In Covington on September 17 Hon. John G. Carlisle Speaker of the U S House was feted at a reception. An immense procession escorted him from the Grand Hotel to his home across the river as bands played The Old Kentucky Home. A Carlisle club carriage carried Mr and Mrs Carlisle.

Six cases of yellow fever have appeared in Gainesville among the Gainesville Guards who aided Fernandina longshoremen riot suppression. The report comes via a Times Union special note from Jacksonville dated September 17.

Miss Eva Pemberthy an eighteen year old from Massillon Ohio came to Pittsburgh and worked as a nurse. After witnessing a graphic surgical procedure her mind collapsed and she now raves tearing hair and believes the entire family is insane. She has been removed to the Toledo asylum as her parents mourn the peril to their daughter.
In Nashville on September 18 John Smith Jr a railroad contractor was robbed near Lancaster Smith County of 1000. He was shot and suffered a fractured skull as Robert Johnson pursued the robbers and wounded both, one fatally, before recovering the money and turning the culprits over to authorities. The robbers were former employees of Smith.
The Sovereign Grand Lodge of Odd Fellows met in Los Angeles on September 18 and elected officers for the next term. General Underwood of Kentucky was shifted from Deputy Grand Sire to Grand Sire, and Charles M. Busbee of Raleigh, North Carolina, was chosen Deputy Grand Sire. The afternoon parade was described as imposing.

In Cariaco on September 15 Mrs. C. J. DeLeon an elderly widow used a rubber tube to draw gas from an unsighted jet. She placed the tube under bed clothes that covered her head and body and turned on the jet.
