A seven story Steam Gauge and Lantern Company works in Roecursten New York caught fire at 7 30 pm. Forty workers on the third floor escaped or leapt from windows as smoke blocked fire escapes. Fourteen jumped on the west side, fourteen fatally injured and six died within an hour. Four others expected to die. Officials fear five or more bodies remain. Building loss quoted at 5 00 0 and plant losses at 1700 with insurance.
A severe snow storm hit Atchison Kansas beginning this morning and continued all day. Trains delayed and telegraph lines are down with one line to Kansas City working. Over two hundred telephone lines broken and electric light service suspended to prevent accidents. Damage totals unknown due to communication outages.

George Bridenbaker a farmer near this city opened fire during a quarrel wounding his wife mortally and killing his son and daughter. The daughter survived due to a corset rib deflecting a bullet while Bridenbaker awaits possible mob action in city jail.
Mollie Fancher the wonderful fasting girl of Brooklyn is very ill and unlikely to rally. For over twenty years she has been dying, with doctors watching at her bedside. Though a period of better health followed a prior prognosis, her heart has grown weaker and her condition now seems terminal and sudden.

In Kentucky Adams concedes Day’s defeat by Wilson, trimming Democrats’ tally while West Virginia awaits canvass to decide slim electoral outcomes. Nevada reports Republicans confident about House gains but final results remain unsettled.

Cuartlaxcoca Texas November 3 Butler and Robert McGuire fought over a woman. McGuire was stabbed in the throat and left cheek. The throat wound is dangerous and believed fatal. Butler was arrested and jailed.
President Neal Mitchell announces for the 24 hours ending six o clock this evening: new cases twelve and deaths one. The total number of cases to date is 448 and total deaths to date are 38. Deaths listed include C. Alexander.
Marie Berthune, widow of a miner killed in a shaft disaster at Prirrsstreu Kansas,セット set fire using coal oil and caused the burning death of five children in their cabin while an eldest daughter escaped. The mother died along with four younger children shown by recovered bodies. The surviving girl described the grim sequence and her mother’s final acts.
