Hon John P King aged eighty nine died at Avensta Gs March 14. He was elected to the US Senate to succeed 390 M Troupe in 1857 and re elected to succeed himself in 1863. He resigned in 1937 and was for nearly forty years president of the Georgia railroad. He was the oldest living ex senator.
A collision on the Central Pacific near Cisco this afternoon involved two freight trains each with four engines. All four engines and numerous cars were wrecked. Engineer John Pickens was killed instantly. several others injured. Four additional workers are missing and believed buried in debris.
