Berktema Nev July 17 A terrible wind-storm struck this place at 7 o clock Sunday night. Twenty frame buildings were destroyed. The Presbyterian Church was torn from its foundation. No loss of life is reported. The buildings destroyed were cheap structures, hence the loss was small.
Fire swept the Duna breaker complex at Old Forge near Scranton on July 17 destroying all connected buildings except the blacksmith and carpenter shops. Loss is about 7100 dollars with insurance not known.
