A June to December feature on Elnora's growing canning plant shows it as a thriving employer for 89 to 100 workers and a boost for local farmers. The plant cans beans tomatoes and pumpkins, with detailed steps from scalding to soldering, filling, cooking, and packing. Projections point to expansion with new fillers and two large additions as output and acreage rise.
Nancy M. Breden, nee Forbes, died Friday night after a paralytic stroke suffered three weeks earlier. She was 75, suffered in Crawford County, Ind. She and her husband John Breden served as United Brethren ministers. Survived by six children and twenty two grandchildren, funeral held Sunday with multiple pastors assisting and interment at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
Madison township held a Saturday session to nominate township officers. J K McCarter chaired the committee with Dean M Inman as secretary. Nominations included Justice of the Peace Joseph D Laughlin Thomas M Brown and James M Hayes. Constables William A Bechtel James H Freeman Joseph Kinnewan. Advisory Board Richerd B Davlap acar M Wallick Dawson B Ogden.

A Monday night fire at 11 30 damaged a corner house on Oak and Walnut streets in Odon. Sparks from a chimney likely caused the blaze before residents and local schoolboys, aided by Gus Neeremer and John F Daugherty, brought it under control. The roof was torn off with no other damage and no insurance.
Mrs. Cornelia Workman sues her father in law W H Workman of Loogootee in Martin circuit court for 10000 damages alleging he caused estrangement from her husband in May 1906, prevented reconciliation, and caused her abandonment and loss of home and support. William Workman Jr. is her husband, married in 1882 to Cornelia Chattin. they have two children.
Ira Bowman resigned as money order clerk at the Washington post office on Saturday and traveled to Indianapolis on Monday to enter Purdue Medical School. Frank McGeehee, a general delivery clerk, will be advanced to the money order window.
After August 1 1906 I will make and bail cider on Wednesdays and Thursdays each week. W B Neeriemer signs the notice stating the schedule and intent for cider production and bail.
