Elkanah Hutchens Shot Near Home
Farmer Elkanah Hutchens, living two miles south of town, was shot Saturday evening. A bullet pierced the side of his face, scraped a wall, and a person was heard rushing from the window. Hutchens, a peaceful man with no known enemies, doubts the shot was accidental.
