Malone Plummer Nowell Mal ue and Nora Plum mer were united in marriage last Wednesday at Pleasant full parsonage by Rev J W McMurtry. The bride is daughter of John Plummer of Scotland. The groom is son of Peter Malone, an ex soldier of World War I. They have the best wishes of many friends for a happy life.
Odon Cattle and Mule men won multiple prizes at the Log_ootee Fair and Stock Show last week. Harvey Sims took first prize for best span of mates and captured both first and second prizes for best mule over two years old. C B Mumaw earned second prize for best Shorthorn heifer one to two years old, while M L Mumaw won second prize for best Shorthorn heifer under one year.
The Southern Indiana Fox Hunters Association concluded its Edinburgh gathering with broad support, noting the finest hounds and a weeklong program of barbecues, dances, concerts, and dog contests. Attendees from many counties attended, with Ed Keck as president and Bun Mitchell as secretary treasurer for the next year.
Mrs Vernop Norbeck and her son from Terre Haute returned home after a week with Wilbert Dove’s family. Alma Henderson visits her sister Mrs Herschel Ledgerwood. Mabel Teen of Peoria visits Mr and Mrs Ivereti Ke OK. Will Porter and son Wrex spent Sunday with Dan Porter. Ross and Rolley Thomas and Mrs George Huber of Arthur were here last week for their father James Thomas Tom Pruett. Olaf Porter visited Jessie Trueblood Sunday. Al Toon and children, Joseph Carr and family, and the Edymondsons spent Sunday with Will Ledgerwood.
Plainville High School representatives visited Wednesday to arrange publication of the monthly Plain viewer. The school paper has a long record of quality and this year’s issue will be expanded in size and scope.
The notice states that 3rd precinct Madison township will serve as the legal voting place. Names listed include Jennie C. Cornett James Cornett and Carl C. Cornett.
County commissioners announce the appointment of thirty four election inspectors in Daviess County. All named inspectors are Republicans and the board follows the law granting the winner of the previous election the right to name officers. Residents and visitors gather for stock and produce show in Loogootee while local figures discuss politics. T B Cox, democratic candidate for county assessor, visited with relatives. A diphtheria scare subsides as no new cases appear in days. Community notes mention residence changes and religious services. Several families from Loogootee visited Raglesville and surrounding areas. Ezra Mattingly and M S Hastings spoke on political issues in Washington with limited turnout.

Sir and Mrs Arch Cunningham as Miss Pleasie Cunningham spent Sunday with Mr and Mrs Ira Leach. Chris Long of Jasonville spent Sunday with home folks. Mrs Sam Raney and children visited Sunday with Mr and Mrs Teii Resler. Will Humericx house went to Terre Haute Saturday. Herschel Resler spent Sunday with Dale Myers. Mrs Sarah Evans and Mrs Ada Deal spent Sunday afternoon with Pearl Chestnut.

Mr and Mrs Minard Smiley and Mrs John Spurgeon with Ethel Sommers visited Terre Haute. Mrs W T Dearmin and daughter Mise Maysel are visiting Ray Garten family in Indianapolis for a few days.
Opal West reports a lively junior class program directed by Carvel Stotts featuring Palmer Williams Trula Sims and Robert Freeman. The assembly included Hazel Connell Vonda Marshall Kathyrn Stickles and more with a PTA club visit planned and talks by County Superintendent Gilley and Reverend Shake. Odon’s basketball team traveled to Shoals on October 13 losing 24-9 amid rough play and disputed calls as Crane Williams Shaffer and Cooper led the lineup. Continued on page 4.
