Epsom Resident George Bell Dies at Age Seventy

George Washington Bell, longtime Epsom resident, died at his home after six months of declining health. He was seventy, husband of Frances D. Bett, with services held at the M. E. church in Epsom Tuesday at 10 30 AM led by Rev. Denbo. Burial followed at Cornettaville Cemetery.

Robert, son of RobinLason, was taken to Indianapolis Sunday morning for cranchiatelhernia surgery. Arrangements were made for Br. Tank of Indianapolis to operate. the boy recovered rapidly under care in mid morning. His father and sister accompanied him to the city.

Infant Daughter of Local Couple Dies of Bowel Trouble

Martha, eighteen months old, daughter of Mr and Mrs Elmer Andis, living about four miles southwest of the city, died last Friday from bowel trouble after a brief illness. Funeral services were at Concord Saturday afternoon under Joseph Brock's direction, burial in the cemetery at Concord.

Two months old child of Mr and Mrs Wm Christenberry died Friday at home northwest of Odon from diphtheria. Burial occurred Saturday at Walnut Hill. Prominent Daviess County Men Indicted in Insurance Scandals

Prominent Daviess County men Van Allen Albert Perkins Daniel Wolfe and Perry Drake were indicted on charges of conspiracy to swindle the Actua Insurance Company over insurance on stallions Byron Mack and Oxeneer. One indictment accuses Wolfe of perjury and Van Allen of arson for a February 2 1915 barn fire near Veale's Creek Church causing total loss. Bond set at 500 on each count. Drake was arrested Saturday. barn destroyed with nine horses two cows and farm implements.

Vernon Malone Marries Miss Rose Carnes in Linton

Vernon Malone son of Samuel Malone and Miss Rose Carnes were married at 3 30 pm Thursday at the bride’s home in Linton. Rev J H Carnes officiated in a small family ceremony followed by a two course luncheon. The couple, after a three week western trip, will reside in Lyons and host friends after November 1.

Peoples Ticket Named at Garden Street Convention

The Garten building on South Spring Street hosted a well attended Peoples ticket convention Friday night. Alex O'Dell opened the meeting with J B Stotts as chairman and J R Gantz as secretary. James Callahan was nominated town clerk and treasurer by acclamation. Hugh Neeremer became first ward trustee by acclamation. Joe Callahan and Jack Cooper stood for second ward trustee with Cooper winning on the ballot. For marshal, William Summerville led after the first ballot among Frank Fouccannon Chas Boyd Dan Ledger Wool and Marion Ferguson. The ticket bears the scales emblem and adjournment followed about nine o clock.

Miss May Dearmin to Wed Mr Paulsen of Wyoming

Miss May Dearmin daughter of the late Dr Dearmin and sister of W T Dearmin will marry Mr Paulsen of Wyoming next Saturday evening. The ceremony will be at her mother's Indianapolis home with W T Dearmin and family attending by car. She previously lived in Octon and studied there.

Twelve year old Gail Rosenberry dies in Dayton Ohio

A telegram announced Gail Rosenberry’s death in Dayton Ohio after years of nervous illness. The 12 year old daughter of Lola Hattery and granddaughter of M E Dick spent summers with her grandmother in Odon. The body was brought to Loogootee and funeral services were held in Raglesville with burial there.

Crooke Injured In Barn Mule Incident

C F Crooke suffered serious injuries when a mule kicked him in a barn belonging to W T Dearmin. He was bruised in the chest and head, treated by Dr DeMotte, and taken home to East Alain Street where he was improving with no complications expected.

G D Abraham Celebrates Sixtieth Birthday and Retirement

Yesterday marked the 60th birthday and retirement of Geo D Abraham a leading local mine owner in Odon Indiana. He conducted a sale of personal property to settle finances and prepare for a period away from business while his daughter seeks vision treatment in Indianapolis. Abraham plans to return to Odon but will reside there. The sale drew a strong turnout.

The infant daughter of Mr and Mrs Tom Sears of Terre Haute was brought in Tuesday afternoon on the three o clock train for burial. Mrs Sears formerly Miss Rose Hubbard of this city is in a very critical condition.

Dr N J Goshorn longtime physician in Washington Indiana married Miss Suda I Tate sister of Mrs Paul Polski of a famous dry goods store. The ceremony occurred Wednesday evening at the Galt House parlor with Rev Paul Weber officiating. The couple, once sweethearts in El Dorado Illinois, plan a Florida honeymoon before extensive travel.
