Death of George Rosenberry at Evansville and family

George Rosenberry aged 73 son of William Rosenberry born April 8 1846 in Tuscarawas County Ohio died in Evansville after four weeks illness. He married Clara Mills in 1877 and had twelve children. Funeral at home near Evansville with burial at Walnut Hill. Thanksgiving reflections follow with exhortations to gratitude.

Farmers Short Course to Be Held in Odon Indiana

Fifteen good progressive communities were chosen for special farmers short courses, with Odon selected in Daviess County. The event on December 11 and 12 features W A Ostrander on soil and crop improvement and C L Burkholder on fruit growing and home beautification. Demonstrations include corn tables for seed study, soil fertility sessions, home economics by Miss Alma Garvin, and practical topics on planting, pruning, spraying, marketing, and storage. The event has no fees and aims to benefit both fruit growers and homemakers, while a new fire truck was recently delivered and showcased in town.

School Notes and Activities Highlight Thanksgiving Vacation

The school will dismiss Thursday and Friday next week for Thanksgiving. Fire drills occurred Monday and Tuesday. The orchestra, with ten members under Miss Hanna, practices Tuesdays and Thursdays. Outdoor sketching enjoys the drawing classes, and Nel son Humbaugh is named yell leader in support of the basketball team. The team wears new suits funded by local donations. The High School chorus rehearses a Christmas cantata alongside the Thanksgiving musical.

The Star theater in Odon hosted a record audience for Wives of Men, with Florence Reed's standout performance praised as the best photo play yet seen. Tomorrow presents The Blind Girl of Portica, a lavish production with a quarter million dollar budget and a 500-strong cast, limited to two shows starting at 7:00 with box office at 6:40. Plainville High Boys Edge Local in Tight Wednesday Contest

Plainville High School beat the locals 15 to 16 in a hard fought game before a large crowd. The junior squads opened the night with Plainville defeating Odon 10 to 5.
