Last Friday William Truebloed and Miss Edna Skemp wed at the M E parsonage with Rev. Hogan officiating. The couple’s families and friends watched a cautious, private ceremony followed by a modest reception. The bride, educated and esteemed, is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Reason Skemp.
Special services planned at the M E church with a sermon by Rev S L Toda of the US church. Program includes songs by the choir readings by Rev GF Castner prayers by Rev Col Buchanan scripture by Rev ALC Scott and a collection for the American Bible Society. Mr and Mrs Trueblood move to the newly purchased farm south of Lowa from Dr Taylor heirs.

On Wednesday at the bride’s home east of town M Chester Johnson and Mina McCarter were united in marriage. Johnson is a young farmer and son of Mrs Ketchemach. McCarter is the daughter of Mrs Nanda McCarter and well liked by many friends.
The Washington Herald reports rumors of a speaker’s return via the B and UO SW with possible appearances in larger towns, but notes a decision against making speeches. Other items note Judge Houghton’s potential move to Washington, a pay cut for Ira Bowman, high school enrollment totals, a local man’s quip about newspaper subscriptions, and Charles Weather’s tallying a northern Bloomington eagle shot near his home.
A tramp arrested Friday night by a Baltimore and Ohio shop policeman for train riding slipped his handcuffs and fled as he was taken to the rock pile yard south of the B and O railroad. He escaped before officers could recapture him.
The Secretary of State reports confusion over term start dates for officers elected at the last general election. An Attorney General opinion clarifies that most officers take office on January 1 after current terms expire, except the clerk of the Circuit Court and judges whose terms are not specified, who will assume office at term end.
Horse Show officials met Tuesday night and settled all claims for the year. All debts were paid and a small treasury balance remains to start next year.
A Covington physician Dr C H Ludlow arrived in this city with a man claiming to accompany him from Anderson to Indianapolis. Ludlow, found wandering drugged at Hyatt's station, was later traced to the dyatt hotel and left for Covington with Mr Dohterman. An old soldier who traveled with him was questioned and arrested for strange actions at Ludlow's office.
The Linton football team will play Tean here Saturday. The Elnora football team defeated the Udon team here Saturday 6 to 0. Miss Clida Garten of the class of 04 visited Wednesday. Rev S O Dorsey visited the high school Friday and conducted opening exercises. Rev and Mrs Bowman Leach left Monday for Trenton Illinois after a three week vacation with relatives. Luther Sears of Elmore township was here Tuesday. School dismissed next Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving and Teacher's association. Herbert Trueblood of the Senior class was absent this week due to illness. Two Senior boys chatted with the Professor in the office Wednesday. Mr Leach's friends praise his ministry and a gold watch was given him.
B and O S W officials order thirty three depots at various points along the line with larger buildings costing from 850,000 to 8100,000 under spring consideration. In seven years the company has spent millions on grade reductions curves and terminals and now focuses on station improvements.
Election inspectors at Shoals last week canvassed votes but broke into a quarrel and adjourned. The dispute arose when a precinct’s votes were rejected for omitting county candidate names before tally. Courts are expected to be asked to settle the matter.
