Governor Danly designates November 28 as a statewide legal holiday and day of thanksgiving. The proclamation urges worship, gratitude, charity, repentance, and unity, calling for quiet reflection, prayer, and renewed dedication to Christian duty and public law. Secretary Fred A. Sims authenticates the document.
Charles B Rogers formerly of Shoals Indiana will be appointed master in chancery for the Eastern Judicial District of Oklahoma. The role handles many foreign corporations and Indian business and will be among the best paid federal posts west of the Mississippi. Rogers was active in Indiana politics and later moved to Viata Indian Territory where he remained involved in territorial politics.
Court records show twelve oil leases totaling 1015 acres in Madison and Elmore townships. Oliver O Laughlin holds a 40 acre lease while C K OHara of Pittsburg owns the other eleven leases.
The Bank of Lyons owned by Dr. B. F. Chambers and C. C. Kirk resumes operations after a suspension caused by failure to satisfy the Greene County Clearing House Assoc by bills receivable. The owners are prominent property holders with extensive farming lands.
Locals plan a new county with Jasonville as seat to counter Linton efforts. Proposed borders would include parts of Greene Sullivan and Clay, with northern junction at Clay Vigo Sullivan and southern edge near Linton. The Bicknell town board awards a twenty year franchise to J E Winter and George Cleveland to light streets and alleys. An arc light system must operate within seven months. Town owns half stock, franchisees own half, with franchisees managing the plant. The Municipal Light and Power firm previously held a county granted franchise and failed to agree on terms, leaving the town without lighting.
A petition led by James H. Garten asks county surveyor George A. Faith to supervise dredging of the Smothers Creek ditch in Elmore township. Faith will examine the ditch this winter and likely solicit bids for the project next spring. The work, about five miles long and draining four to five thousand acres, is expected to cost roughly seven to eight thousand dollars funded by local assessments across Elmore Madison and Bogard townships.

Standing on a whisky barrel he preached for an hour with fervor and eloquence. A large crowd listened attentively, many seated on whisky barrels and beer cases.
