Civil War Veteran Falls From Loft In Township
J P Taylor a Civil War veteran and longtime resident was seriously injured Thursday evening when he fell from a barn loft four miles east of town. He sustained a broken hip and internal injuries. in poor condition and advanced age may slow recovery. A small gold watch with chain was lost and reward offered.

Ed O'Connor Dies On Election Day In Barr Township
Ed O'Connor Republican trustee candidate in Barr Township dies at his home shortly before noon on election day from pneumonia linked to a heavy cold. He was 60 to 70, a former teacher and farmer, crippled with one leg, survived by his wife and children. His death cast gloom over the township as workers reported he was leading in the vote.
