Miss Alloptres suffered injuries and was treated by Dr Sca lder at Lafayette Westhafer’s clinic.
Plainess and Martin counties helped at the judicial convention in Shoals last Wednesday nominating Frank E. Gilkane for prosecuting attorney by acclamation. Gilkenson, a well known attorney of Martin county, received the nomination.

The county commissioners met at the courthouse and found no competent civil engineer in Daviess County due to conflicts of interest. They will meet again on the first Sunday in June to consider engineers from Indiana with drainage experience. They secured several available names for consideration.

Next meeting set for May 22 at Mrs. Opal Prather’s home.
The Newshemer Lumber Co plant on Alain Street erects a high metal fence on the east side and rearranges buildings. They will build a new concrete wall and driveways, enhancing the plant’s overall appearance.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo Harman and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Katec visited relatives with their children on Sunday.
The Pythagorean Knights of Pythias celebrated their thirtieth anniversary Tuesday night at Washington. They performed the third degree of Rank of Knight and then presented the amplified third degree, which the order has abolished. Many local Knights attended the meeting.
Den Garten buys the residence of Martha Mer on South Spring Street and moves it to the vacant lot south of the Z. M. Garten residence. He will remodel and convert it for his permanent home.
Mr and Mrs G C Smith and children of Enid Oklahoma returned home Monday after a short visit with Mr and Mrs Jno Wires. The Smiths and Sosiths and Wires families spent last Thursday at Trinity Springs.
The jury pool for the Van Allen case was drawn from a special venire of sixty names. forty one were questioned for qualifications. The panel excludes regular jurors, with jurors from Van Buren Bogard Plainville Harrison and Heve named among potential members. The case promises to be an interesting one.
