Alderman Mehanty's Buckets and a Copper Plot
A West side alderman Mehanty clashes with rival Rowley Simpson as a real estate scam and a bogus Eclipse Mining stock plot unfold. Floyd and Danny Roberts scheme to trap Simpson by swapping fake stock and exploiting Mehanty’s copper mine deal. Simpson pays in prime promissory stock certificates, but Eclipse Copper Mining refuses them claiming misidentification. The scheme collapses and the conspirators return to the High Rollers club to recount the failed profits.
