Special correspondence from Indianapolis reports Auditor Billheimer ordered life insurers in Indiana to stop writing special contracts. Companies halted writing the policies after the decree, with threats of suits to enforce the law. The auditor's firm stance is credited with reforming the industry.
The Rev. W.E. Edgin, Indiana Reformatory chaplain at Jeffersonville, leads a federated interdenominational church at Winona Lake’s reform school. Since 1906 he has overseen a 200-member church, 200-person Bible class, and a 167-average attendance, with 67 percent holding perfect records or parole credits. The plan, supported by Warden Whittaker, aims to guide inmates toward Christian renewal and stable parole outcomes. Edgin notes the program operates independently of prison discipline and believes Indiana hosts the nation’s only such system.

Peter Bibermaster, a Southern Indiana conductor, fell under his train while switching to the stone yards at Bedford. Both legs above the knees were ground off. He leaves a wife and seven children.

Eli Hannah collapsed from heat while fighting a house fire south of Elnora Tuesday morning. The blaze started at about 10 o’clock from a defective flue, destroying the kitchen furniture and damaging the home, valued at 409 dollars with furniture losses around 100.
