Aged resident Mary Shively dies after long illness
Mary Shively aged and respected resident of Liberty Street died at her home on Race Street after a period of general debility. Born July 31 1836 in Lawrence County she lived most of her life in Daviess County before moving to the city. Survived by four children and five others, funeral held Monday at 3 PM with Rev C H Buchanan and Rev Ro Gwin. burial in Liberty Cemetery. In other local news wolves suspected near Shoals were slain by hunters and two mounted specimens displayed publicly.

Booster Banquet At Local Church Draws Forty-Six Attendees
The Christian Sunday School Booster class held its monthly banquet and gathering Tuesday evening at the church base. Arthur Greenwood of Washington spoke to the young people, delivering a pleasing talk. A splendid banquet followed, serving fried chicken with giblet gravy, mashed potatoes, green peas, salad, berry pudding, and iced tea. Music provided throughout the evening by parish members.

Plainville Young Man Dies After Two Surgeries
Bruce Bissey son of E L and Mrs Bissey of a farm near Plainville died Sunday night at Washington county hospital after complications from an appendectomy. He was over twenty. He leaves parents six siblings and two sisters in law. He belonged to the R P Lodge Plainville. Funeral service was held Tuesday at 2 30 at the Plainville AB church with Rev C H Buchanan officiating. Burial followed in Plainville cemetery.
