Funeral for Wm Hall and father held in Illinois

Wm Hall aged 31 died at his home near Odon after learning his father had died in Robinson Illinois The death due to meningitis He family learned of the father’s death Saturday evening The body was shipped to Robinson Sunday for a double funeral with his father Also mentioned is the purchase of the Winkelpleck farm by Mr Dungan father in law to the younger Hall The widow and two children survive

Walsh Parole Near As Indictments Drop

The last obstacle to parole for John R. Walsh, former Chicago banker serving five years at Leavenworth, was removed when US Attorney Sims nolled the remaining indictments. Attorney General Wicker sham ordered the dismissal, signaling approaching freedom. The federal parole board meets at Leavenworth on Sept 17, with Walsh's case among the first reviewed.

Mrs Amelia Smiley Dies After Cancer Surgery

Mrs Amelia Emma Smiley, wife of Trustee W S Smiley of Van Buren township, died suddenly at Indianapolis M E hospital after an operation for cancer. She was 50 years old and had just begun to recover when she fainted and died of heart failure. Funeral services were held at the M o church with Rev Henry Denbo officiating. burial in Walnut Hill cemetery.

Australian egg laying contest yields record white leghorns

Over nine years Australia has held egg laying contests for domestic fowls. This year white leghorns set a record at 1,324 eggs from six hens in a year, averaging about 220 eggs per hen after accounting for moulting and lost time.
