Sheriff Feelding Colbert took Minnie Stevens to the Industrial School for Girls after an abduction from Mr and Mrs Lens Collins near Elnora. The fourteen year old was placed in government care. Collins were fined previously for assault and battery on the girl.
From The Journal a letter by F. G. Lutes describes Lutes and companions Capt. J. W. Garten Chas. Freeman and Juanes Cain enjoying Florida fishing. Lutes declines help to land a monster and lands a six inch yellowtail solo on the dock.
Trustee BR McCallian was sent to the State Superintendent for plans for a new school in district No 1. He expects to receive around February 15. Building a school involves red tape with plans specifications and expenditures needing approval by the State Board of Education Health Accounts and the Township Advisory Board and others.

W O Wallace owner of the Owl Drug store in Washington faces trial for illegal whiskey sales. Co defendant John Dodson, a store porter, is charged with selling whiskey in small quantities without physician consent. Dodson pleaded guilty and was fined 20 dollars plus costs.
The M. E. Church in Owensboro Kentucky holds Sunday school led by E H Laughlin with Rev. T M Davis preaching at 10:30. Dr W S Biddle will preach and administer the Lord's Supper at 7 PM. Quarterly meeting at 9:30 Monday at Odon. Pastor begins Sunday evening sermons on The Social Crisis titled True Socialism by Feb 5 at 7 PM.
The preacher Fr. Brane delivered a fine sermon Sunday night and Norman spoke in the tent for a week, drawing approval and moving many to deeper consecration. Services continue this week with afternoon and evening gatherings and local Sunday school and preaching times listed.

Miss Pearl Brown stayed with Mrs. Hazel Besler Friday night. John Arvin and family moved to Terre Haute. Miss Agnes Hackler visited the Mallette girls Sunday. Charley Ross passed through Ce Vicinity enroute to Plainville. Elijah Grove of Epsom attended the funeral Monday. Joe Adkins and family moved to New Albany. Wesley Brown and daughter Pearl visited Od on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Will Harper attended the funeral Monday. Mrs. Sion Hackler and Ethel visited the Matheries Sunday afternoon.
Mrs Esther Crane widow of Harrison Crane died Sunday evening at her Bramble residence on the 78th anniversary of her birth. She originated in Loogootee area and was widely respected. Cause given as cancer. Funeral services were conducted at the home Tuesday morning with burial in Croodwill cemetery north of Loogootee.
