Representative Dalzell introduces a bill to incorporate the Lake Erie and Ohio River Ship Canal Co with power to connect the lake and river system. The waterway would run from near Pittsburgh to near Warren Ohio with Andrew Carnegie and about 20 others named as incorporators.
Henry Norman cables from Washington proposing to attach a clause to the Behring sea arbitration that would cover all pending questions including Venezuela Canada Alaska boundary and eastern fisheries. The British cabinet plans to publish documents on the Venezuelan affair and seek a cordial Anglo American settlement. Hunter chosen by Republican caucus in Kentucky to succeed Blackburn in the state senate.
