Opening of New School Building
Opening night featured a formal program and a large audience dancing as the new enlarged public school building was lit. The auditorium is spacious enough for a sizable future high school and the Odon area shows strong school spirit and growth potential. The Journal offers local history on early schoolhouses dating to 1848 and a 1907 addition, noting eleven rooms and nearly 400 pupils.

Change in Judicial Districts Affects Pike and Daviess
Washington Herald reports Republicans support uniting Daviess and Pike in a joint circuit and splitting Pike from Dubois. If approved, Judge FB A Ely would stay with Daviess and Pike, while Judge Houghton would oversee Martin and Dubois. Travel time and new rail links drive the plan but raise connectivity concerns for Dubois and Martin courts. Shoals News notes mixed local stance and potential loss of direct routes between Dubois and Martin counties.
