Plans Completed for Purdue Short Course Week
Plans are complete for the annual farmers short course at Purdue University January 12 to 16, with arrangements for about 3 000 farmers and wives from across the state. Pulaski County directors will bring 120 attendees, and interurban cars will transport others. The event features agriculture leaders, the state corn show, the Purdue apple show, a ham and bacon show with $75 in prizes, and participation from numerous Indiana associations. Purdue specialists and practical classes cover animal husbandry poultry dairying home economics horticulture soils and crops. The week also includes magazine sales at Rexall, local social notes, and a push for a new canning factory in Odon with planning committees formed.

Fire damages home on West Race Street
Fire damaged the home of Homer Overton on West Race Street last Monday afternoon when a defective flue caused a roof fire. Earl Seneff, owner, reports a considerable area burned before alarms and fire crews arrived. John Sommers owns the building and will repair and reroof promptly.
