Word reached here of the death of Dr W H Burke on December 22 at his home in Wealska Oklahoma He practiced medicine for twenty five years in Scotland Greene County He previously was Democratic nominee for recorder in Greene County He later moved to Oklahoma He was brother to Frank Burke of Bloomfield and was well known in the community

Four County Officers Enter On Their Terms
Four county officers began new terms with three serving two years and one for three years. George Godwin, county treasurer, and Clifford Bonhim entered on two year terms, Richard McDonald became county commissioner for three years, and the sheriff must post a 250 000 bond before duties. If the sheriff dies the coroner acts as sheriff for the remainder of the term. The new commissioner McDonald succeeds Henry Sefrit and started Monday.
