Mrs Brammett dies after tuberculosis at 27

Mrs Jwitie May Brammett wife of William Brammett died at her home three miles east of Odon on Tuesday from tuberculosis. She was twenty seven and had suffered long with the disease, with a noticeable decline in the last six months. Survived by husband four children and close relatives. Funeral at Bethany church Wednesday with Rev Alexander of Washington in charge. Interment at Bethany cemetery.

Tragedy in Washington: Treasurer Jones Dies by Suicide

Theodore T. Jones, treasurer of Daviess County and a respected citizen, shot himself at his Washington home after a period of mental strain. He fired twice, dying twenty five minutes after the second bullet struck. The office closed in his memory. John L. Clark named to fill the unexpired term. Burial followed at the local cemetery.

Tarantula Found in Bananas At Dowden Restaurant

Mrs. W. L. Dowden discovered a large tarantula tucked in a banana bunch at the Dowden restaurant on West Main Street. Workers killed the spider after it moved to escape, describing it as dark grey, hairy, about two and three quarters inches across. The note warns tarantulas are tropical and rarely reach this far north.

Burglars broke into the Plainville general store and the depot last Thursday night. A trio from Elnora was captured near White River and jailed after a county court arraignment.

Bechtel Daughter Weds Sears Son at Elmore Township

A wedding took place Sunday at the home of Frank Bechtel in Elmore township. Miss Mike Bechtel married Chas Sears son of B F Sears. Attendants were Nelle Funcannon and Pinckney Sears. Rev Todd officiated with Anna Stepp singing. A large reception followed with a generous dinner and gifts. An unfair digger was given Monday at the groom’s home.

A birthday party for Mrs. Edwin Winpuckle celebrates her twenty second birthday with friends including Mr. and Mrs. Walter Shaffer and family, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Adams and children Lola and Willis, and others. Guests enjoyed social chat music and pastry, then departed by ten after wishing many returns of the day.

Tuberculosis Claims Former Odun Woman

The obituary notes the death of a former Odun resident Mrs Cale ODell after a lingering illness. She previously lived in Odon for a decade then moved to Linton and later Missouri. Born in Franklin, she was survived by four of six children. Her funeral and burial occurred near her home.

The complaint alleged cruel and inhuman treatment, citing dissatisfaction with her cooking and indifferent behavior.
