Imported Hungarian quail to be released in Daviess county

Thirteen Hungarian quail will be released on the Veale township farm owned by Ziba F Graham in Washington hunters selected the site. The state game commissioner sent the birds to Washington and distributed many of them across the state. State Game Warden Earle said another shipment will go to Daviess county and a previous shipment had seven of the twenty birds die. The county also hosts seven pheasants hatched from eggs supplied by William H Suoch of Plainville. Prairie chickens from Illinois are present in northern Daviess county.

A Swell Smoker King Orders 500 Havana Cigars

The king of England has placed an order with a New York tobacco broker for 500 cigars to be shipped from Havana in June for England's Easter holidays. The price will be about 1 600, slightly more than two years ago when 3,000 cigars cost 3,000. The 8 inch cigars are 1 inch thick, made from Vuelta Abajo tobacco, selected after examining thousands of leaves for color size and vein uniformity.

A new flouring mill begins operations at Epsom by J. Myers and Brothers. The plant already produces feed and ground corn and will soon ship its first flour. The equipment came from the old Walnut street mill at Washington after its machinery was sold, hauled to Epsom, and quickly put to work.

Infant Dead in Elmore Township Funeral

The three month old child of Mr and Mrs Mac Blackwell of Elmore township died from croup. Funeral services were held at Good Hope church Sunday afternoon by Rev C Lowther of the Odon M B church. Burial took place at Walnut Hill cemetery.
